Ok, it is Christmas Eve and what have you done? Another year older another year done... As believers in Jesus Christ this really should be our day or eve of greatest anticipation for our coming Messiah right?! Those in our lives who know Christ and are growing in his likeness understand this, yet we all seem to get caught up in this commercial X-mas that truly does take Christ out of CHRISTmas. While the day is still young you can change that... Read the passages and consider how you can be an example of the REAL gift of Jesus on this day. It just may change how you view this CHRISTmas!

Does driving no longer require common sense???

OK so our senior pastor at Faith (Steve Viars) mentioned it 2 weeks ago in his message about distracted driving, and what I saw Friday on I-65 North near Brookston made me think of it again... I saw 2 overturned car haulers with brand new Toyota's (possibly Camry's coming from Lafayette) in the median. I do not know what happened, not should I speculate but I would suspect that distracted driving played a part in this scenario. Was it a distracted semi-driver? Was it someone in a car that caused the semi-driver to leave his lane and head for the shoulder?

As someone who is on the road in sales almost every day and has logged well over a million miles (probably beyond 1.2 now)it is apparent that MOST folks don't take driving as serious as they should.

Auto drivers not giving semi-trucks enough space, semi-drivers changing lanes and causing auto drivers to make evasive maneuvers, folks driving at irregular speeds and having no apparent regard for those that use their cruise control (major pet peeve of mine), and the list goes on and on...

The basic question I beg is this: are the current laws that are changing WHEN 16 yr olds get their license at all effective in making better drivers? Or is the added time just prolonging when the poor drivers (poorly taught) and good drivers (well taught) get their license?
