Labor and Unions... Democrats and Republicans...
Go ahead and Google 'failed labor walkouts' and 'successful labor walkouts' what do you think you will find? Or Google the 94-95 MLB Strike. What are the results of failed lockouts? What are the results of a so-called successful lock-out? Who wins in these situations? Who loses...?
Let's look at today, this week in the US we have potentially historic walkout looming in the NFL over what really amounts to money / greed and the need for all of those who already have more $ than most of them know how to properly manage to get more of the pie. Sure there are more issues here such as health and safety issues, but it is NFL Football not Pee Wee soccer. If the owners and players union cannot come to an agreement then the fans (err - season ticket holders & ultimately shareholders) are robbed of their investment. Go ahead and walk out, will it affect the league for years to come? Are they REALLY willing to take that chance? Get an agreement and PLAY BALL!
Now onto state governments... How many of us can simply make a decision to LEAVE WORK when we don't like what is going on there without serious ramifications? That is ridiculous thinking at best, yet the IN and WI Democratic senators have done just that. What do they REALLY hope to gain? Do they just want to thumb their noses at the taxpayers and show that there is really nothing from stopping them and that they will still have a job when they are done with these political shell games that they are playing on those who elected them and/or they are supposed to represent? What would the founding fathers say of this? They would not even comprehend such games I presume.
The good thing here is we all have a choice - Vote, support the NFL and business or don't and forfeit your rights to ever open your mouth and discuss because you have not earned the right.
